2. Oral Reports Noticeable Effort to Improve Eye Contact – People stood to the side and gestured into board Did notice a slight uptick in nervous habits – Playing with markers – Hands in pockets – Not bad if have to do something – handcuffed behind your back position

3. Some Organizational Tips Self introduction What did you work on this week? How does it relate to the mine study? What tools did you use and how did you work your topic? – Calculation details and examples are for the written report – Assumptions made or results from other groups that you used will likely be appropriate What are the key results that supply information to the continuing design development

4. Information I Noted Missing Why Cat 789’s – written report seems to show it’s the only truck size that gave economics Why 3 Pit Viper Drills – I could see it was a one shift only operation – I could see the 209 ft/hr assumption – Could not find the calculation to show why the number of drills was 3 (all needed data was there) – I could not find the source of the hourly costs – I could not find a description of what the storage facilities were and how they were costed Why am I having a hissy? – These are the largest operations to identify mining cost – Need to have firm reasons for the numbers

5. Written Report Comments How am I grading them – 25 points organization Are there headings that identify content below? Does it start with stating a purpose Does it go to an explanation of how things were done and what assumptions were made? Are appendices referred to in the text and do the appendices start with an explanation of what is being shown? Does it identify the conclusions needed for the report and is it clear how the conclusions were reached?

6. More Written Grading Clear Language 20 – Do the sentences have decent grammar and punctuation and spelling? – Do the sentences make readable sense and explain the topic? References 10 – Do you reference where you got material in the text and have a matching reference section at the end?

7. Last Criteria Content 45 – Did you get the information you were charged to get? – Was there solid information sources and procedures behind the conclusions?

8. Comments On What I Saw Saw some reports that explained what they were doing and how Saw some that were nothing but some tables with almost no text on what was being done or how things joined together. Lots of problems with references in the text – Most had a list of sources at the report end Obvious appendix material missing – Computer files and report outputs
