Coil building – rolling out thin or thick coils by hand or with an extruder Chunk Building – using small chunks of clay as you go and building up to the final form Slab building – rolling or throwing out slabs of varying thickness Pinch – pinch the clay into its form Combining all these methods together may also be used, no steadfast rules on methods

One handmade teapot Guidelines Must make the teapot combining any methods discussed in this presentation Teapot idea must be representative of another artists teapot that you will research and bring a printed copy of to work from This is not a copy but you are using another persons work as inspiration Teapot does not have to be functional but must have : Handle, Spout, Lid, Body You have exactly 2 weeks to finish this and it counts as your final exam grade

Find your artist inspiration by next class Bring in a printed copy of one piece you will be emulating not copying, by next class Main search term hand built teapot
