Learner Main Concepts A learner may be a civil servant employee or a contractor. He/she has access to SATERN to view his/her training information and, if identified as a supervisor, may view subordinate training information. Learners Added To SATERN Learner records are added to SATERN automatically through a connection to the Human Resource System (FPPS) and NED. There are two types of mandatory fields in SATERN. SATERN requires that each learner record contain a unique learner ID (user name). The following are two types of learners and examples of learner IDs (user name): cswinters – Civil Servant C-rjwoods – Contractors 30
