Extended Families instead of nuclear families. The tribe is more important than the nation. Africa: :: America : Ethnic Group

Animism Belief in one remote supreme being. A world of spirits in all things. Ancestor veneration Belief in magic, charms, and fetishes Diviner (Shaman): mediator between the tribe and god.

Most traditional cultures in Africa practice traditional economies. All economic activities are based on traditions. EX: Men hunt and the women cook San People, Kalahari Desert also known as bushmen

Many are subsistence farmers as well. What is subsistence agriculture? Farming just enough to feed your family or village this included animals as well.

How would you describe governments for these people? Whatever the government of their country, is the government they must abide by. Most tribes have their own traditional governments Male is the leader, and makes all the rules.

You will be assigned a group to work with for the next week and a half for this project. You will be given the project stipulations as a handout. Today: Pick a tribe from a list to research and begin working on the #2 tribal cultural elements form. Form will be a daily grade.
