11  What is language like in these traditional cultures?

12  Extended Families instead of nuclear families.  The tribe is more important than the nation.  Africa: :: America : Ethnic Group

13  Animism  Belief in one remote supreme being.  A world of spirits in all things.  Ancestor veneration  Belief in magic, charms, and fetishes  Diviner (Shaman): mediator between the tribe and god.

15  Most traditional cultures in Africa practice traditional economies.  All economic activities are based on traditions. EX: Men hunt and the women cook San People, Kalahari Desert also known as bushmen

16  Many are subsistence farmers as well.  What is subsistence agriculture? Farming just enough to feed your family or village this included animals as well.

17  How would you describe governments for these people?  Whatever the government of their country, is the government they must abide by.  Most tribes have their own traditional governments Male is the leader, and makes all the rules.

18  You will be assigned a group to work with for the next week and a half for this project.  You will be given the project stipulations as a handout. Today: Pick a tribe from a list to research and begin working on the #2 tribal cultural elements form. Form will be a daily grade.
