Use link on my website- On my homework calendar- Click today's date Do Now:  Open textbook to pg. 35  Open binder to pg. 48- Answer figure 19 question from pg. 35

2 Sharpen your Skills! T.B. Pg. 36 Follow directions for the activity (your cubes are already cut for step 3)-  Record your data on pg. 48/49- in the data table  Then…. Answer questions 4 & 5

3 Steel Wool vs. Iron Nail Which had greater corrosion (rusting)? Why?

4 Explain Why? Why are foods like milk, meats, and vegetables kept cool? -To keep them from spoiling Does food ever spoil in the refrigerator? -----Yes The reactions that spoil food (growth of bacteria) slow down at lower temperatures

5 Temperature Heating a substance makes its particles move faster. Faster moving particles increases the rate of reactions in two ways: 1) They come in contact more often- more chances for a reaction to happen 2) Have more energy -----This energy lets reactants get over the energy “hump.”

6 How Bright will it Glow?? What changes did you observe in the glow stick in the hot water verses the glow stick in the cold water? Why do you think this happened?
