Diffuse vs Limited Scleroderma-- Definitions Diffuse cutaneous scleroderma: –Thick skin distal AND proximal to elbows and knees, with or without the face (widespread, or diffuse, skin thickening). Limited cutaneous scleroderma: –Thick skin distal, but NOT proximal, to elbows and knees, with or without the face (limited skin thickening)
