2. OBJECTIVE I will understand what the A-G requirements are and understand why I need to complete them. I will create my own high school plan that displays how I will complete the A-G requirements.

3. ASCA STANDARDS Standard B : Students will complete school with academic preparation essential to choose from a wide range of substantial post-secondary options, including college. A:B1 Improve Learning A:B1.5 Organize and apply academic information from a variety of sources A:B2 Plan to Achieve Goals A:B2.7 Identify post-secondary options consistent with interests, achievement, aptitude and abilities.

4. WHAT ARE “a-G” Subject Requirements?  Specific courses that meet minimum admission requirements for the UC’s, CSU’s and other Institutions of Higher Education in California.  They are different from high school graduation requirements!  15 Classes in total to be completed over 4 years.  ONLY 15!!!!  Students have to complete 26 classes for graduation at Orestimba High and colleges only require 15! 5. Why are they Called “A-G”? Each letter from “A-G” represents a different subject matter A-G courses have been specially approved by the University of California Office of the President If a course qualifies as an “A-G” course, it has been approved as a course that will prepare students for the rigor of college.
