Functions Spreadsheet software has built-in or predesigned formulas called functions One of the most commonly used functions is SUM Another frequently used function is AVERAGE, which is used to calculate the average of the numbers in a range of cells in a column or row Insert menu, Function

Merge cells Merge cells- (Join cells) merge two or more cells into one cell Format menu, Cells

Wrap Text You can choose to have the text wrap within the cell’s width in the same way sentences are wrapped in word processing documents Format menu, Cells

Indent Text Use the Indent Text feature to help distinguish categories or set text apart within cells Format menu, Cells

Standard Column Width Standard Column Width- the default number of characters that display in a column based on the standard font. You can change (widen or narrow) the column widths so that text or values fit the longest line or have a better appearance Format menu, Column

Printing a Worksheet Orientation: Landscape (horizontal) or Portrait (vertical) File menu, Page Setup

Print area By default, most spreadsheet software prints all the information in a worksheet. If you need to print only a portion (one or more pages, one cell, or a range of cells) you can specify to have only that portion printed. File menu, Print area

Margins Margins- increase or decrease the top, bottom, left, or right margins to control the amount of data printed on a line. Print the worksheet centered horizontally or vertically on the page File menu, Page Setup

Scaling Scaling- reduce or enlarge information through the Adjust to % normal size option. Use the Fit to pages option to compress worksheet data to fill a specific number of pages File menu, Page Setup

Print Preview Print Preview- a worksheet should be previewed before it is printed to make sure it is arranged on the page as desired File menu

Header and Footers Header- specify a line of text to print at the top of every page Footer- Specify a line of text to print at the bottom of every page File menu, Page Setup
