1. Claymation Project

2. Your project You will be working with a group to create a short claymation presentation. It will include dialogue and a written component, along with various steps and tasks for you and your group to complete. Steps and Process: 1. Project introduction 2. Project planning (choose your group, brainstorming, choosing setting, characters and events, and storyboarding) 3. Character creation (involves actually constructing your characters) 4. Set design (building you back drop) 5. Picture taking (with the use of an Ipad) 6. Building the animation (includes adding you dialogue) 7. Presenting

3. Topic Choose a topic from our unit: Les Destinations d’Hiver Here are some examples: – Create an animated itinerary of a trip. You can show you and your friends on the trip or through the perspective of a tour guide. – Create a situation in which there is a basic conversation between characters. Your character is conversing with a native and learning the language (French). – Show the customs and etiquette of the destination your group has chosen.

4. Materials You will need a variety of materials to help create your project. I will help with providing some of the materials, however you and tour group are expected to get materials. Most can be purchased at the dollar store or a craft store like Michael’s. Materials: – Clay (try and get plastersine that is none drying/hardening) – Styrofoam and/or aluminum foil – Construction paper/cardbaord – Accessories for your character and background – Fishing line – A box or container for you and your group to keep your materials

5. Components Oral – Everyone in the group will need to speak in French at one point. – It can be part of the introduction, character presentation or the claymation itself. – Your group will have to record yourselves on a device that can be transferred to an itunes account (make sure that at least one person in your group has an itunes account). Written – Your written part will include a description of your characters (e.g. what they look like, personality traits, etc.) – The storyboard needs to be completed in French with the different scenes from your claymation. – You may to choose to add text to your presentation.
