ATAMSBLAST DIGITAL AGENDA 10 – 11 COLLEGE PREP PHYSICS KAUFFMAN5 December 2011 DO NOW: What is a state function? What is a heat cycle? Give two main examples of heat cycles in the real world. California Standards: 3a. Heat flow and work 3c. Thermal energy 3e. Entropy 3b. Heat engines 3d. 2 nd Law Essential Questions: What is a state function? How does it apply to heat cycles (engines, refrigerators)? LEARNING OBJECTIVES FOR STUDENTS: Given: Review problems the learner will: Review conservation laws, types of energy, and energy transfers by: Solving multiple problems for the requested information through systematic analysis Assessment: Brain Honey Assessments on Standards 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, and 2e.

Individual Instruction: Continue working on Brain Honey assessments. If they are not working for you, Dr. Kauffman has a printed copy for you to take instead. Work on annotating and eliminating for the physics questions provided. Direct Instruction: Ask any questions you have from individual station and on the assigned problem set. Heat engines, refrigeration, and state functions Collaborative Station: Share your PowerPoint presentation with your table mates. Make sure you understand each of the problems you are presented. Compare your answers to the assigned problem set with your table mates and reach a consensus answer to turn in at the end of your rotation. If you finish with this, there is an assessment posted in Compass Learning that covers the standards on this upcoming benchmark. Please start working on this. Use your notes, the web textbook, and other resources to find answers to each of the questions. Write down details of how you solve each question. Prepare a list of questions to ask in direct.

Momentum Reading & Problems Physics 7 Nov 2011 – Work, PE, KE, Conservation of Energy, Energy Transfers Compass Learning Topics: You should have completed each of these last week AND you should have vocabulary done for each section. For each word listed as a vocabulary word, you need: the word, a textbook definition, your own definition, a picture, the word used properly in a sentence, and the Spanish translation (available from www. glencoe.com/sec/science/mlg/mlg.php?site=20) YOU SHOULD FOCUS ON THESE WORDS FOR NOW AS THEY ARE THE ONES YOU ARE EXPECTED TO KNOW FOR WEDNESDAY’S TEST Three ways to do: – Personal Science Dictionary Folder – Personal Science Dictionary PowerPoint – I-movie in pairs.
