Spring 2009 | CM/CS 348 Human Computer Interaction | Self-Services for Students Study Registrar Focus Group one of largest stakeholders in my.aup project play a pivotal role in AUP community have some of most interactions with students on a day-to- day basis office is chiefly responsible for student records duties include but are not limited to : processing registration requests keeping list of schedules classes and maintaining class lists enforce rules for adding and dropping classes keep a permanent record of grades and school enrollment

Spring 2009 | CM/CS 348 Human Computer Interaction | Self-Services for Students Study Method Focus group form of qualitative research in which a group of people are asked questions about their opinions Why we used Focus Group & not other method Held it in Amex, non office environment Why we chose to talk further to Registrar asked them a few open-ended questions continued to ask important follow-up questions based on their responses

Issue of communication with students Don’t check their email/mailboxes counter-intuitiveness of the my.aup site Students come with many F&Q

Spring 2009 | CM/CS 348 Human Computer Interaction | Self-Services for Students Study Discussion Layout of my.aup site needs to be reorganized Transcript order is in payment section not academics Insert a status bar during checkout that lets you know status of steps completed those to come Dictionary of terminology related to registrar Frequently asked questions page They will only have to meet with students face to face for exceptional reasons
