2 The 3 C’s #1 Context (topic of conversation) –For example: category = cars I bought a Toyota (look for key letters)

3 The 3 C’s #2 Configuration: Shape of the word Look for up letters (B, C,U,R,V)and down letters (P, Q) as well as long letters (Y) and moving letters (J, Z) This may come later as you become more familiar with Fingerspelling. EXAMPLE: Apple in English

4 The 3 C’s #3 Closure (filling in the gaps) –Make educated guesses about what you think the word might be based on both the topic of conversation and the few letters you recognize. –EXAMPLE: –My grandma’s name is E _ _ Z _ B _ _ H

5 Ordinal Numbers (Think Order) When do we use ordinal numbers? –To put things or people in order. –EXAMPLE: 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th floor What is the movement for ordinal numbers? –Twist 1-9 –10 and above no twist

6 Cardinal Numbers When do we use cadinal numbers? –Counting EXAMPLE: I have 2 brothers Movement: –1-5 palm-in –Rocking numbers: – 67,68,69 –76,78,79 –86,87,89 –96,97,98
