Why the rush The coordinator needs to sign the Grant agreement on or before August 11th – But the PLSIGN for INFN is away after July 24th The consortium agreement needs to be signed before the GA is signed by the coordinator – not a EU rule but a safety measure INFN won’t waive After the coordinator’s signature of the GA, parties have 30 days to sign accession documents – but UBP is closed July 24th – August 28th – Not a *very* strict deadline for the EU, but it is better to comply The above imply that we need INFN to sign some days before the 24th – the 20th is a good choice This leaves us the end of this week to circulate a finalized version of the CA and have it signed, scanned signature pages be sent in pdf to me, plus 8 paper versions of the signature be also sent by postal courier

3. Main issues Luckily, no big issues emerged during the scrutiny of the parties of the CA. The main concerns: – ill-specified purpose of 10% retention of RTN funds – coordinator and network coordinator need to be well distinguishable in the document – schedule of meetings, time for announcements – warranties and liabilities (background specification) – how to word the access rights in sec.9 – what to attach

4. My proposal The version I circulated yesterday evening, which has all corrections implemented except ones from UOXF (which sent their notes 1.5 hours ago), should be considered final, except that we explicitly go now over UOXF notes
