9. Minimum Guaranteed Funding  Ensures that doctoral students receive a minimum of $19,000 in financial support for four years of doctoral-level study.  The MGF package may come from a variety of sources including:  internal awards  external awards  teaching assistantships  research assistantships

10. Eligibility Requirements for Minimum Guaranteed Funding  Students must be registered full-time.  Must maintain cumulative GPA of 10 (A-).  During first year, PhD students must apply for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (if eligible).  During second & third year, PhD students must apply for a SSHRC or CIHR award.  Must submit a satisfactory progress report by July 1 st each year.

Field Learning Option  May focus on advanced clinical practice, policy issues or international development among other possibilities.  An experience that will advance the student’s ability to conduct rigorous research that will have relevance for social work practice.  Students doing a field learning option are exempt from Doctoral Seminar and elective course.
