3. Transition = Teenager The transition from childhood to adolescence is noted for significant developmental changes. The changes brought on by puberty are accompanied by increased autonomy and this independence brings with it an increased responsibility for managing ones own health. Management of personal health requires a level of health literacy. Goal: develop the knowledge and skillls to make decisions that promote optimum health.
