About the Chinook Tribe They are located In Washington State They are governed by a tribal council They speak English Children went to school and helped around the house almost every day of the week

The Dawes Act It was approved on February 8, 1887 It is an act where individual Indians gets to own land that was property from a tribe, it allowed them to become U.S. citizens This act affected lives of Indians because their tribes were being taken away from the government and they lost their homes
