3 Facts  Originally established in 1855  The court originally had 3 judges appointed for life  Now they only serve 15 year terms  Judges are appointed by the president, and are able to be reappointed  There are 16 judges

6 Real Life Cases  1. National Vaccine Injury Act of 1986- This aimed to provide cost-effective vaccines, and keep a stable market place.  2. Cases relating to Native American tribes because the government breaches their rights. Over $550 million in damages.
