2 Expanding PGT Distance Education at Edinburgh 2 Why expand distance education? Growth in worldwide online distance education; Demand for HE, inc PG education, outstripping physical supply; Working adults, esp professionals, are time+money+space challenged; We will enhance the University’s reputation for modern, high quality, accessible education; We will diversify our income streams to accommodate risks from visa limits and uncertain worldwide travel; We will develop staff skills and University services for the longer term, when distance education at PG level will be a normal part of academic business for universities like Edinburgh.
