2. The Holy Spirit is God, because Peter said that when someone lied to the Holy Spirit, he was lying to God. (Acts 5:3-4) Paul writes, “Don’t you know that you are God’s temple, and that the Holy spirit lives in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)

3. I cannot bring myself to faith, because, “you were dead in your transgressions and sins” (Ephesians 2:1) The man without the Spirit does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him.” (1 Corinthians 2:14 But, fortunately …..

4. The Holy Spirit brings us to faith He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:5) No one can say “Jesus is Lord” but by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3) How does the Holy Spirit do it? ….

5. How the Holy Spirit brings faith “He called you to this through the gospel.” (2 Thessalonians 2:14) By gospel we mean the message about God’s love shown by Jesus’ death on the cross “While Peter was still speaking (about Jesus), the Holy Spirit fell on those who were listening.” (Acts 10:44)

6. While you’re hearing the gospel The Spirit shows you your sins The Spirit shows you the savior

7. While you’re hearing the gospel God … made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6) Therefore we pray for others that the Holy Spirit would overcome “the god of this world, who has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel” (2 Cor 4:4)

8. Why don’t all believe? “God wants all people to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4) BUT Paul describes some people this way: “You stiff-necked people. … You are just like your fathers: you always resist the Holy Spirit.

9. When you believe in Jesus, Your sins are forgiven You are God’s child You are in God’s family, the church, the kingdom You have new life (you are born again) You have the Holy Spirit living in you You have Jesus living in you You have eternal life

10. Saved in Past, Present, and Future PAST: We have been saved from the PENALTY of sin (because we are forgiven). PRESENT: We are being saved from the POWER of sin (because we can fight temptation) FUTURE: We will be saved from the PRESENCE of sin (because there will be no sin in heaven).

11. All three are in this verse Now that you HAVE BEEN set free from sin, and have become slaves of God, the fruit that you GET leads to sanctification and its END, eternal life. (Romans 6:22)
