5
Florida Department of Transportation What we do Aerial Imagery Acquisition – Support specific Department projects when typical consultant contract mapping are not feasible – Support Department County Highway Map and Geographic Information Database – Support Statewide Orthophotography Base Map (F.S. 373.012), and Inter-local Agreement with FDOR (O.R.B 741 Page 158)
6
Florida Department of Transportation What we do Maintain Department Aircraft and Digital Mapping Camera – Estimate annual maintenance and operational costs for aircraft – Schedule and supervise aircraft repairs and regular preventive maintenance – Perform aircraft test flight(s) after all repairs – Perform camera calibration and test image collection flights as needed – Aerial equipment maintenance and operational cost reporting
7
Florida Department of Transportation What we do Aerial Surveying & Mapping support for State Emergencies – Coordinate with the FDOT Emergency Management Office and other State agencies before, during, and after emergencies – Move aircraft and equipment if feasible to avoid damage and provide for optimal staging of emergency projects – Collect pre and post disaster State emergency aerial imagery – Produce emergency Aerial Surveying & Mapping products and services – Establish emergency Aerial Surveying & Mapping response procedures – Coordinate training of staff with other State emergency response personnel
8
Florida Department of Transportation What we do Production of Aerial Surveying & Mapping Products and Services – Aerial Mapping production support on Department projects as needed – Aerial Mapping production support for Surveying & Mapping Office – Aerial Mapping production support to FDOR per Inter-local Agreement (O.R.B 741 Page 158)
9
Florida Department of Transportation What we do Department Aerial Surveying & Mapping Support (F.S. 334.048) – Provide Aerial Surveying and Mapping expertise and technical support to Surveying & Mapping Office, Districts, and Department – Establish and maintain Department Aerial Surveying and Mapping standards and procedures – Training of Department Staff – Research and vet emerging Remote Sensing methods and technologies for use by Department on transportation projects – Manage and archive Department Aerial Surveying & Mapping project imagery and supporting documentation
10
Florida Department of Transportation What we do Provide leadership, expertise and technical support for the topographic mapping of Florida (F.S. 373.012) – Coordinate Department Aerial Surveying & Mapping efforts and improvements with other State and federal agencies – Establish and maintain Aerial Surveying and Mapping standards and procedures for Statewide Orthophotography Base Map – Quality assurance of aerial surveying & mapping products submitted by state agencies, consultants, and other aerial photography partners for inclusion into a Statewide Topographic Base Map
11
Florida Department of Transportation Florida Digital Orthophoto Program (FDOP) Coordinate with FDOR and Water Management Districts to provide statewide coverage on a 3 year cycle. 2015/2016 season FDOT to map 5 to 6 counties – Pending funding some may be out sourced
