The Cycle of Literature Circles Steps in the Cycle Step 1: Students read text individually or in pairs or groups. Step 2: Students complete a written response based on their reading. Step 3: Students discuss the passage using their written responses as a guide. Step 4: Students reflect on the group’s discussion (in writing or in oral reflection with group).
