Development of the Armenian- Georgian Civil Society Dialogue February 6-9, 2010: meeting of representatives of the Armenian and Georgian civil societies: General trends of Armenian-Georgian relations were discussed and five areas of potential cooperation were identified (Civil Society, Media, Culture/Science/Research, Bordering Regions and Business) 26 joint project ideas were developed on actual issues of Armenian-Georgian relations

Development of the Armenian- Georgian Civil Society Dialogue April 11-12, 2011: joint study visit to Javakhety region Meetings with representatives of local government, media and CSOs were conducted in Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda Joint report on the Study Visit was prepared and presented to the participants of the Armenian-Georgian Civil Society Dialogue in Tbilisi on April 16

April 16-17, 2011: Second meeting in frames of Armenian-Georgian Civil Society Dialogue was held in Tbilisi, Georgia Joint project proposals on five selected topics were developed to present to donor community and to seek for the fundraising General recommendations to donor community and national civil societies were adopted on promotion of non-state actors’ involvement in bilateral cooperation (within the context of regional and European integration) Development of the Armenian- Georgian Civil Society Dialogue

Need to develop and maintain local points of stability and cooperation in South Caucasus Need to develop bottom up initiatives on civil engagement in cross-border cooperation Need for confidence-building to promote better understanding of regional unity Need to support bilateral cooperation as a mean for conflict prevention as well as identification of ongoing problems, and advocacy for their solution Need to develop bilateral formats as a basis for regional cooperation throughout South Caucasus General recommendations to donor community and national civil societies

Need to maintain existing resources and experience for communication Need to strengthen direct channels of information exchange and maintain capacities of mutual understanding Need for development of bilateral cooperation in frames of European integration (EaP in particular) Need to establish institutionalized infrastructure of non-state relations to promote democratization of the region General recommendations to donor community and national civil societies
