What do you know? 9/11/01 Terrorist attacked the United Sates using our own commercial passenger jets Targets were the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and possibly the White House or Capital building Organized by Osama Bin Laden and the Al- Qaeda terrorist network Almost 3,000 lives lost in New York, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania 346 firefighters, police officers, and port authority officers gave their lives attempting to rescue trapped people

9/11/01 Global Impact A U.S. coalition with British, Canadian, Danish, Australian, French, German, Italian, Norwegian forces, and support from the Netherlands and New Zealand, attacked terrorist locations in Afghanistan on October 7, 2001 in retaliation Looking to destroy all Al-Qaeda terrorist training camps and ultimately Osama Bin Laden

President Bush declared “Mission Accomplished” in Iraq on May 1, 2003. An Iraqi democratic election took place on January 31, 2005—first time in their history American troops still deployed in Iraq, and continue fighting to advance freedom Over 6,000 American military casualties to date in the War in Iraq--No WMD’s found: this was used as excuse May 2, 2011, Osama Bin Laden tracked down and killed by Americans
