2  Romania is a beautiful country located at the intersection between central and south eastern Europe, and it is actually the eighth largest country of the European Union by area, measuring a total of 92,043 square miles.

3 It is situated in the south-eastern part of Central Europe and shares borders with Hungary to the northwest, Serbia to the southwest, Bulgaria to the south, the Black Sea to the southeast, Ukraine to the east and to the north and the Republic of Moldova to the east. Romania is the second largest country in the area, after Poland. It is a prosperous country with a rich history,nature,arts and environmental magnificance.Bucharest the capital municipality is a cultural, industrial and financial centre of Romania,located in southeastern part of the country. Romania offers a unique universe,where mountains,gorges,vineyards,vast landscapes and sea combine,creating a true balance and offering the ingredients for perfect holidays.

4 This county has a total area of 5,602 km². The North side of the county consists of various mountains from the Southern Carpathians group. In the West there are the Vulcanului Mountains, and in the East there are the Parang Mountains and Negoveanu Mountains. The two groups are split by the Jiu River. To the South, the heights decrease through the hills to a high plain at the western end of the Romanian Plain. The main river, which collects all the smaller rivers, is the Jiu River.

8 Near the municipal town there are many tourist objectives,of outstanding attractiveness, whose beauty and diversity meet the tourists' requirements and needs. So,in western part of the town there are natural areas,such as Sohodol Strait,Susita Valley, Cerna Valley, many mountaineering routes to the peaks of the Vulcan,Mehedinti and Godeanu Mounts, areas for practicing the mountaineering,escalation,canyoning and sportive speology, or memorial houses and ethnographic museums,such as Constantin Brancusi memorial house, the History and Ethnography Museum Lelesti,The Museum of The Folk Costume Tismana,religious objectives. To the east of the county,there are Sacelu Spa,Ranca resort –well known for its outstanding potential for winter sports, the monasteries Crasna,Tirgu-Carbunesti,Polovragi,Cheile Oltetului, “The Women ‘s Cave and Polovragi Cave, numerous tourist mountain trails to the summits of Paring and Capatana,areas to practice escalation,free flight zones for parapant and delta-wing flight.

10 THE PELES CASTLE The Peles Castle is one of Romania’s most important and impressive landmarks, originally representing a place for relaxation and leisure for the country’s monarchs.

12  The Palace of Parliament (Romanian : Palatul Parlamentului) in Bucharest, Romania is a multi-purpose building containing both chambers of the Romanian Parliament. The Palace is the world's largest civilian building with an administrative function and the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon in the United States. It is also the most expensive administrative building and heaviest building.

13 . The Bucegi Sphinx can be found in the Bucegi Mountains, at an altitude of 7,270 feet. The Sphinx of Bucegi was named this way because it resembles a human head and because it bears a close resemblance to the Egyptian Sphinx.

14 . The salt mine of Turda can be found in the Dugau-Valea Sarata area of Turda, and it is over 13 million years old, weighing a total of 38 million tons. Tourists can enter the mines and admire their exquisite natural beauty through the Salina-Durgau tourist center

21  Count Dracula, a fictional character in the Dracula novel, was inspired by one of the best-known figures of Romanian history, Vlad Dracula, nicknamed Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), who was the ruler of Walachia at various times from 1456-1462. Born in 1431 in Sighisoara, he resided all his adult life in Walachia, except for periods of imprisonment at Pest and Visegrad (in Hungary) The Vlad Dracul House is located in Sighisoara’s Citadel Square, close to the Clock Tower. This ocher- colored house is the place where Vlad Tepes, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s famous Dracula, was born in 1431.A wrought-iron dragon hangs above the entrance. The ground floor of the house serves as a restaurant, while the first floor is home to the Museum of Weapons.
