5. Quality Based Procedures Quality-based procedures are groups of services for specific types of patients that require similar care. Hospitals are reimbursed for the types and quantities of patients they treat, using ‘prices’ based on efficiency and best practices that are adjusted for each procedure. next

7. How is Sunnybrook doing? The funding models are still quite new, but preliminary results released in March 2013 show that Sunnybrook continues to be performing very well in its peer group of large teaching hospitals. Sunnybrook also has one of the lowest administrative costs, at 8.4 per cent, among Toronto teaching hospitals. next
