Office of P-16 Initiatives Overview The Office of P-16 Initiatives manages a suite of college access and success- focused initiatives that promote postsecondary access and success among low- income students across Tennessee. Memphis Latino Student Success Collaborative

$4.2 million in federal funding for 7 years, $29.5 million total. Provides direct services to “the cohort” and seniors at participating schools. Cohort: Class of 2018, beginning in the 7th grade 1st year in postsecondary education. Over the next 7 years, GEAR UP TN will provide services to over 37,500 students. GEAR UP TN

Tennessee’s Comprehensive Resource for College and Career Planning CollegeforTN.org aims to increase the number of Tennesseans attaining higher education credentials by providing easy access to career, high school, college and financial aid planning resources.

Focus on updating website content – creation of Tennessee’s one-stop-shop New Staff 2 Training and Outreach Specialists – East and West Assistant Director of College Access and Success Partnerships Partnership with the TDOE to incorporate CTE Programs of Study To graduate, all Tennessee public high students must choose an elective focus area (i.e., CTE Programs of Study) Strengthen link between career exploration, high school course planning, and higher education options Career outlook information by region Marketing Campaign College fairs, baseball games, promotional materials Initiative Updates
