3 GENERAL OBJECTIVES To help the students to understand and discuss role and contribution of science social studies in their lives. To enable the students to recal, think and apply what they have learnt in the chapters. To open new horizons of knowledge for the students

4 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES  To enable the students to:  Explain why inventions are important.  Identify the qualities of an inventor.  Identify major objects invented and their inventors over the last century.  Classify inventions that improved farming,household chores, space exploration and communication  Identify recent inventions and how they have changed the way people work and play.

5 Previous Knowledge The students are already well aware of different inventions and inventors Resources Pictures, Chalk, Blackboard Method Inquiry method, Lecture method Procedure  After the announcement of the topic, the teacher will ask the students one by one to read the given sub topics; Definition of invention Qualities of inventor Major inventions and their inventors in last century Famous inventors and their inventions Effects of inventions on lives  She will inquire from the students what they have got and then explain the whole topic with pictures.

6 Assessment  To assess the students the teacher will ask the students following questions  Explain the importance of an inventor  Draw a mind map to show the qualities of a successful inventor.  Match the invention with inventor(match the columns)  Name any five inventions in past  Complete the flow chart  Students will be asked to write the above mentioned questions in their note books and learn them at home
