2 Facts Population: The amount of people living in Chile is about 16 million. Area: The area of Chile is about 757,000 square kilometres. Capital City: The capital of Chile is Santiago. The city is home to 7 million people 36% of the countries population. Currency: The type of money used in Chile is called peso.

3 Facts Official Language : The official language of Chile is Spanish. Religion : Approximately 70% of the population is Roman Catholic.

4 Four Things You Didn’t Know About Chile 1. The worlds largest swimming pool is in Algarrodo city in the pacific coast. 2. The driest place on Earth is in Chile, The Atacama Desert. 3. Chile is the 9 th largest producer of wine in the world. 4. Chile’s Andes Mountains has some of the largest and still active volcanos in the world.

5 Sport One main sport played in Chile is football. The main stadium in Chile is called Estadia Nacional de Chile. The capacity of the stadium is approximately 48,000 people. The stadium officially opened on the 3 rd December 1938. One famous soccer player from Chile in the Arsenal player s from Alexis Sanchez. Manual Pellegrini from Man City is from Chile.

7 Tourist Attractions Pucon Pucon is a small tourist town in the middle of the southern Lake District. There is a lot of sports you can do there like water skiing, snow skiing, white water rafting, horseback riding and climbing the Villarica volcano.

8 Wild Life The pudu, a tiny deer unique to Chile it lives in the thickest parts of forests between Chillan and Chiloe. It is the worlds smallest type of deer! This is a baby pudu.
