The Bottlenose Dolphin Do you know about the bottlenose dolphin? If you don’t, don’t worry because I will teach you everything. By Laurel

Classification Have you ever learned about the classification facts for the bottlenose dolphin? I have lots of classification facts and I’ll share with you. First, I will tell you a classification fact that makes a dolphin a mammal. The bottlenose dolphin has little hairs on it’s head that makes him a mammal. Also they are warm blooded. Warm blooded is when its body tempter doesn’t change. Bottlenose dolphins breathe with lungs. There are many reasons a bottlenose dolphin is a mammal but this is the most important. The dolphin gives live birth!

Habitat Do you know were a bottlenose dolphin lives? There are many places where they live. I guarantee you will know where to find a bottlenose dolphin if you read this. The mode of the data is that they live in the sea or a ocean. They bottlenose dolphin lives in the northern, and southern hemisphere. The bottlenose dolphin is also located in the unclosed seas like the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.

Food and Feeding Do you know that bottlenose dolphins our prey and predators? Well if you don’t read on and you will learn. Bottlenose dolphins love to snack on little fish called minnows. They also like to eat small squid and ells. This makes them predators because they’re eating other animals. Bottlenose dolphins our prey too. Sharks like to nibble on this kind of dolphin. The bottlenose dolphin has to be careful of what they’re eating because if they eat a puffer fish it might blow up and the points will get stuck in the dolphins mouth. The bottlenose dolphin might die.

Life Cycle Do you know the bottlenose dolphins life cycle? It’s really cool so stay here to learn. first, a bottlenose dolphin stays in its mom’s stomach for about 12 month than it gives live birth. When the bottlenose dolphin gets a little older it has a decision to make, either to go on its own or stay with its family. ( It stays with its family more often.) If the bottlenose dolphin does go on its own it will go looking for a male to start a new life cycle, by making more caves.

Adaptations I have many physical and behavioral adaptations for the bottlenose dolphin, and they’re great facts. First, I’m going to tell you my behavioral adaptation for the dolphin. Bottlenose dolphins look up after each other so when one dolphin is hurt they take care of each other so they don’t drown. Another is the bottlenose dolphin swims in groups called pods. Also the dolphin swims 20 MPH to get out of danger. Now I will tell you my physical adaptation. Bottlenose dolphins have flippers to turn left and right. They also have a big tail to swim faster to get away from their predators, or to catch their prey.

These are all my facts about the bottlenose dolphin. now you know all about them! Whales and Dolphins by Robin Kerrod http://www.emints.org/ethemes/reso urces/S00000939.shtml http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottlenose_dolphin
