Some questions Why do we want any data about maltreatment ? How to define maltreatment ? Which source(s) of data ? How to collect data ?

Why do we want any data about maltreatment ? To know –how many children are maltreated now Incidence of phenomenon; –how many persons have been maltreated during their childhood Prevalence of phenomenon.

Why do we want any data about maltreatment ? To know To act –to improve the help for the children –to help parents –to prevent maltreatment –to improve the laws

How to define maltreatment ? What is maltreatment ? –Problem of definitions. –How to find some concrete behaviors to explain the definitions but also how to translate them ? Which maltreatment ? –Substantiated maltreatment or also suspected maltreatment and situations at risk.
