Climate The Philippines has a tropical climate with relatively abundant rainfall and gentle winds. There are three pronounced seasons: the wet or rainy season from June to October, the cool, dry season from November to February, and the hot, dry season from March to May.

Filipino- American History 1 st Filipinos to come to America did so in the 16 th century. 1898, Philippines became a US protectorate as a result of the Spanish – American war. 142,000 Filipinos fought in WWII with US forces. July 4 th, 1946 Philippines was freed!! Immigration bumps up to 100 per year and those who served in WWII were allowed to bring their dependents (1942 – 1946).

Filipino- American History 1906 – 1934 Filipinos came to California and Hawaii as agricultural workers. 500 pensionados came to the US. 1965 Quota increased to 20,000. 1967 – all anti- miscegenation laws in the US were removed. 1986 – illegal Filipino aliens pardoned. 1990 – pardoned aliens get to bring their families over to the US.
