Subject changes and withdrawals All subject changes must be checked by Grant McMurdo Collect VCE Subject Change sheet from VCE office Discuss change with parents/ guardians, collect signature from them Speak to Grant to ensure the change does not affect your post secondary options Grant must review and approve every change This procedure applies to VET subjects too.

VET Classes 2014 VET classes begin the Week 2, starting the 3 th February 2012. Exceptions: start week beginning 10.2.14 all Kangan TAFE classes Box Hill Allied Health and community Services Acting classes Community work, plus a few other (see Grant) Most classes are on Wednesdays. Students must check their class time and venue on the VCE noticeboard on Level 3. Students are allowed 2 absences per semester.

VET subject withdrawals Same procedure as any subject change Any withdrawal MUST be completed by February 14 The VCE office and Grant McMurdo MUST be notified of your decision! Any student withdrawing later than above date will still be liable for fees as these are charged by the outside providers.

Open Days All students should go to tertiary Open Days this year A list of Open Days will be distributed to students and put on PHSC website when it is available Check the PHSC website/ WIKI regularly for Pathways information

TIS: Tertiary Information Session Compulsory excursion to the TIS at La Trobe University During Term 2, Wednesday May21, 2014 at 9.30 No cost to students. Travel by bus Departing school during Period 1 return by lunchtime Opportunity to gather information about post secondary options and tertiary application process.

Tertiary Expo 2014 PHSC will hold a Tertiary Expo on VCE Parent Teacher night in Term 3, August 12. See PHSC calendar for details. All major feed Universities and TAFE’s will attend.

Tax File Numbers: TFN Students who do not have TFN’s should apply through the school this year (it is easier this way) They are needed for University / TAFE enrolment Collect the form from VCE Hub ( on window ledge) or tonight from this session

Tertiary applications 2015 There will be a VTAC (Victorian Tertiary Admission Centre) Parent Information Night on Thursday August 7. You are strongly advised to attend. Students have a separate session on Wednesday August 6.

VTAC- SEAS preparation SEAS: Special Entry Access Scheme for tertiary applications If any student thinks they fit into the following categories: Medical; disability; financial; difficult circumstances; refugees; Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islanders They should go to www.vtac.edu.au to check what supporting documentation is required then start putting it together for applications in August.www.vtac.edu.au

Tertiary Transition Information 99.17% students who applied received a Round One Offer 91% received either 1 st or 2 nd preference in Round One ( 79% -1 st, 21%- 2 nd ) 31 ‘A’ letter s for automatic entry into audition/ folio based courses If the student satisfies minimum English and ATAR requirements of the institution

A and B letters: the Arts, Technology and Music For folio or audition entry courses (they also consider satisfactory completion of English and ATAR) A letter- Great, you are in! We love you! PHSC 2013: 31 A letters, one student received 4!
