Heat is a source of energy that travels in waves like light and sound. When something heats up molecules start moving and can cause chemical reactions like burning. Heat travels like light and sound. Technically just jumping from object to object.

One example is solar energy, the sun. That is our main heat source. Fire can be created when two pieces of wood rub together and heat up. Friction is another example of heat when they rub together they get hot making heat.
