Gifted: Spiritual Gifts Part 1
2
1 Corinthians 12 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
3
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many.

3 Ways to look at how gifts work I. Diversities of Gifts II. Differences of Administration III. Diversities of Operation
7
What is a gift? Something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present
8
What does this mean to us? I. Whatever gift you have was given to you without you having to work for it. a.Gifted people did not work to attain their gift, they work to maintain and perfect it. b.Because it is a gift, you can use it however you want to. It’s yours to do with as you please. (Don’t bury your talents) c.29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance (Romans 11:29)29
9
Don’t be fooled by the gift I. Gifted people are not necessarily saved. II. Gifted people can use their gift for their own purpose. III. Gifted people are not always led by the Spirit of God. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (John 4:1)
10
What is administration? the management of any office, business, or organization; direction. I. Differences of administration A. People manage their gifts differently. (some make the most of what they have been given while others waste it.) B. We all use gifts in different ways because God has blessed us with creativity and ingenuity. C. The direction has to be following God, though.
11
What is operation? an act or instance, process, or manner of functioning or operating I. Diversities of operation A. You may have the same gift, but how you choose to operate that gift may not be similar. B. Some people operate at 30 fold, some operate at 60 fold, and some at 100 fold. C. God is working through all. We are the ones that hinder the operation.
