2. PILOT PROJECT MONITORING SPENT HEN TRADE
16
MONITORING SPENT HEN TRADE 2006 markets forbidden. Aim: Inspect more effectively the restrictions Control Poultry movements Work Group Strenghtening TURKVET - EU TAT Software completed Pilots Operation of TURKVET periodically monitored at national and local level Private sector might support data entry

3. PILOT PROJECT: RISK REDUCTION IN BACKYARD POULTRY
18
RISK REDUCTION IN BACKYARD POULTRY Aim: Restructuring in the poultry sector, keeping poultry in doors Pilot Provinces İdentified. PDAs Equipments distributed. Barns Enclosure (m2) : 4085 Number of Total Barn:357

RISK REDUCTION IN BACKYARD POULTRY/MONITORING & EVALUATION Prepare a monitoring manual for PDAs Analyse monitoring manuals received from PDAs Visit participating provinces Observe satisfaction level Note problems encountered Discuss conditions and policies for sustainability with shareholders
23
Preliminary Results of Monitoring Most participants satisfied from coops Damage given by free ranging chickens to plants overcome Women highly satisfied due to reducing cleaning requirements Concerns about possible reduction in egg productivity due to stress
24
4. PILOT PROJECT: IMPROVING RISK PERCEPTION IN BIO SECURITY FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE EGG AND BROILER ENTERPRISES
25
IMPROVING RISK PERCEPTION Risk: Small Enterprises Aim: Raise awareness, bio-security training. Topics and Trainers identified Cooperation: Besd - Bir, Yumbir, Unicef ProvincesNumber of Participants 302061
26
Topics Introduced Management and Bio-security in Farms Avian Influenza and Epidemiology Early Warning and Compensation Payments Protection Measures Against AI Bio-security Disinfection and Cleanliness in Transportation Important Diseases in Poultry Poultry Vaccination and Vaccination Methods

IMPROVING RISK PERCEPTION IN BIO SECURITY FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE EGG AND BROILER ENTERPRISES/ MONITORING and EVALUATION Baseline Study held Impact Assessment has been conducted
29
BASELINE SURVEY FINDINGS NEGATIVE Isolation quite unsatisfactory in all of the holdings visited no walls, only barriers at the entrance Most had problems with rodents Few holdings purified the water and analysed the water Egg producers kept limited registration of poultry One person took care of more than one barn POSITIVE Most located away from the living areas The feed units were mostly isolated They cleaned the barns at the end of each term
30
BASELINE SURVEY FINDINGS (continued) NEGATIVE Limited use of protective equipment Outer spaces not sufficiently clean Some not pay enough care to isolating the barns from the access of wild birds Quarantine for new poultry was not applied widely Most did not have any disinfection pool at the entries and disinfection of the visitors very poor Some not sufficiently careful on immediately isolating the dead poultry POSITIVE Feed stocks not exceed one week Workers not feeding poultry in their houses, Broiler producers kept better registration
