What's our direction? Energy and Water Impact (In construction) Energy and Water Impact (In construction) Energy and Water Impact (In use ) Energy and Water Impact (In use ) Operational Impacts Durability and Life-span Recycled Content (Reuse) Recycled Content (Reuse) Carbon and Water in Products Resource Security Resource use and waste Embodied Impacts Resource efficient construction makes best use of materials, water and energy over the lifecycle of built assets to minimise embodied and operational carbon

This prioritises consideration of  reducing materials consumption and wastage  increasing reuse and recycled content, and enabling reuse and recyclability at end of life  matching the durability and lifespan of assets to service life  using resources with no scarcity and source security issues  using products with lower embodied carbon and embodied water  reducing energy and water use during construction; and  enabling energy and water efficiency in use Resource Efficient Construction

 33% lower costs  50% faster delivery  50% carbon reductions  50% improvement in exports Action: Commit to a Resource Efficiency Voluntary Agreement Owner: Construction businesses with support from WRAP Construction Industrial Strategy

All participants commit to playing their part in Delivering a resource efficient construction sector that contributes to the 2020 carbon reduction target. We will make best use of materials, water and energy over the lifecycle of built assets to minimise embodied and operational carbon impacts. Delivering Resource Efficiency

Resource Efficiency Voluntary Agreement Informed by WRAP’s evidence including business cases Informed by WRAP project archetypes Using WRAP’s RE portal Enabled using WRAP’s RMP process, procurement wording, tools and support Sign-up Choose RE component(s) to address Review performance and set targets with WRAP Take Action on RE Measure performance Report performance to WRAP First year target is to baseline performance Is there a baseline for RE component(s) No Yes Feedback Loop for continuous improvement Informed by existing WRAP data
