General Strategy – Quality Concerns Web age: Anybody can put anything on the web at any time! Positive: easy and free to speak. Negative: easy and free to make mistakes. Presumed “guilty”. Always check who publishes the web. Always check contact information.

General Strategy – reading & surfing Web Surfing can be time consuming and frustrating. Reading helps surfing. Know the Jargons- some examples: Non tariff barriers (WTO), but measures having equivalent effect to quantitative restrictions (EU). Antitrust (U.S), but Competition Law (EU).

General Strategy – Search Engine search Advanced search And, or, not, etc. http://www.google.com

General Strategy – $ & Search Engine Some search engines give you more than you want. Reason? – commercials! Ranking may be a trick. The one on the top may not be the best.

General Strategy – in summary Use the web like a book. Index, table contents. Presumed “guilty” until proven “innocent.” Do readings before surfing. Use advanced search in Google. Ranking may not be reliable.
