2. S-10 Drum Brake

3. Removal of return spring

4. #1, Adjuster lever 1

5. Guide plate # 2 2

6. Remove Hold down Springs, The short one goes with adjuster lever

7. Remove adjuster lever and return spring, note pivot bushing# 3 3

8. Note position of parking brake strut rod and anti –rattle spring #4 4

9. Strut for parking brake with the anti rattle spring Note curve and wide end on strut

10. Note alignment of parking brake lever

11. Remove hold down from short shoe

12. Remove shoesas aunit careful of the adjuster spring # 5 5

13. Remove adjuster #6 with out stretching of spring #5 6 5

14. A clean layout will help you with assembly

15. Removal of parking brake lever from cable

16. Inspect wheel cylinder for leaks and free movement of pistons

17. Note wear on backing plate and lube with proper brake grease

18. Reassemble Clean, No grease or dirt on hands or brake friction material!

19. Place holdown pin in pivot bushing to hold adjuster lever in place

20. With care not to stretch spring attach primary shoe with adjuster spring

21. Attach primary shoe with care not to stretch adjuster spring

23. Hold Down spring

24. Hold pin from rear and turn in with a half twist of tool to lock Spring

25. Narrow slot goes towards primary shoe

26. Tool is not needed to place the adjuster rod

27. Replace return springs with care not to over stretch

28. Insert adjuster return spring with small end up. Note position of adjuster #7 7

29. Almost perfect!

30. Replace primary return spring and note guide plate clearance

31. Inspect what you expect!!!

32. Use a safety Set tool to pre adjust shoes

33. Set measurement to drum first

34. Replace drum and check for noise and shoe adjustment
