Key Club Notes February 2014 Due to SNOW and days out of school, you MUST view the presentation and respond to the question on the last slide to get credit for January and February. Lollipops for Life Bring in bags of Lollipops for Relay for Life (must be bags of at least 15 lollipops to get credit) Can earn of to 3 hours (1 bag of at least 15 for EACH hour) Bags will be sold during Relay for Life to raise money for cancer research

Toiletries for Teens So far, ONLY 1 box has been turned in this year. Remember, you can get credit for each standard size shoe box you turn in with basic essentials (items listed outside Room C1211) You are not EXPECTED to buy items yourself – get your church, neighbors, friends to donate.

Easter Cards for Grace Assisted Living Residents Wednesday, March 19 th AND Thursday, March 20 th 3:45 – 5:15 both days (come one day OR both) We will be making Easter Cards for the elderly at the Grace Assisted Living facility

Possible Upcoming Events Thursday, March 13 – The Church at Chapel Hill – Fundraiser Dinner for Pregnancy Resource Center Saturday, March 22 – Lithia Springs Elementary School Details are still be gathered on these events, BUT check outside Room C1211 to see when they are approved

ONLY 2 MORE GUARANTEED Events Special Olympics – here at NMHS – usually in April – will get 4 hours of credit IF you are able to miss class and help – MUST be passing classes to be eligible to participate / TEACHERS must agree to let you miss class for event Relay for Life – usually in late April or early May – can get up to 4 hours of service after school

Club Requirements 10 TEACHER Hours 40 Service Hours (at least 20 must be CLUB EVENTS) Attendance at 1 meeting a month (minimum) – marked 2 nd and 4 th WEDNESDAY on your calendars!! Participation in at least 5 club events – will be applied to 40 hours and must be at least 20 hours

April 14-18 th All members will receive a CONFERENCE TIME to meet the week after Spring Break to discuss their total hours and IF they are on track to complete their hours and / or get a stole for graduation. Make sure you see sheets outside Mrs. Galm’s door at end of March to sign up for your conference time. Times will be assigned and confirmed BEFORE you go on Spring Break!!!

Response Slide Email me putting YOUR NAME’S KEY CLUB RESPONSE into the subject line. Answer in your email - What are you doing on your own to complete your community service hours? Remember, 20 of the 40 required hours can be done with your family, church, friends, etc, BUT you must have a detailed signed log of it to get verified. How many of your 10 Teacher Hours have you completed? All you have to do is find a teacher, ask if they need help, and get them to sign your log after completing the task!!! *** Answer the Questions in red by sending me email to get credit for meetings!!
