CORNEL NOTE TAKING SKILLS -Provides a systematic format and organizing notes - Divide the paper into two side -It has been majorly use by the law student

MIND MAPPING It is a form of note taking that use graphic, organizer and diagram Also known as concept map or spider web diagram Very useful in terms of expanding ideas, shorten the note and etc.

key point/main point Read through the text. Try to understand what the text is about. After read and understand the text, find the key point. Key point is very useful in terms of knowing about certain information is about. Student also can use the key point as their guideline to revise about the topic that have learnt.

ABBREVIATION Also known as short form Very useful because as a student you cannot jot down every information that the lecturer said. So, to overcome this problem, student can use abbreviation to shorten the note.

Before the Lecture: Prepare for Effective Note-Taking Read the material that have been assigned to you. This is the only way to prepare yourselves before the class start. Try to understand a bit even though you’re not. Make you ready in case the lecturer ask you a question about the text.

During the Lecture: What to Write Down ? Only write down the main points of the lecture said. Do not the whole thing word by word. Your professor will likely to go off on tangent during lecture and will spout out thing that will not come out in exam. Pay attention during class to identify what is the main point.

After the Lecture: Review, Clarify, and Synthesize Review and clarify notes right after class - organize your schedule and set a specific time so that you have a time right after each of your class to review your note. To make sure that you really understand everything that you have took down. Synthesize your note.
