3 3Presentation_ID © 1999, Cisco Systems, Inc. www.cisco.com Cisco Airline Strategy Deliverables Product Requirements: Provide a scalable solution that reduces cost and improves maintainability by combining CPEs (smaller routers) at remote sites with a larger capacity router solution for the data center Integrate customers’ legacy network into an IP backbone over customers’ choice of WAN (X.25, Frame Relay, ATM, etc.) Capitalize on IOS for Voice, Security, and Quality of Service Combine scalable routers with web-enabling technologies for full end-to-end solutions Contributions to MATIP standard development Method: Cisco and SITA joint development, test, and beta Cisco hardware/software airline-specific products added to IOS
