3 A Growing Problem The U.S. Department of Justice report: Extent, Nature, and Consequences of Intimate Partner Violence, reported that there are over 1.5 million reported cases of domestic violence reported annually in the United States. Many domestic violence victims often times lack the proper resources to regain financial independence to support themselves and their families when they leave abusive relationships.
