2 GE CONFIDENTIAL AND PROPRIETARY INFORMATION - NOT FOR PUBLIC DISCLOSURE Benefits Sound Reduction - An average sound reduction of 2db is achieved by moving less water through the wash system (15 gallons per minute versus the current 24 gallons per minute) and isolating the drain pump by placing an adapter between the sump and the pump. Less Water Consumption – The tub fills with an average of 1.3 gallons per fill versus the current 1.5 gallons. The water valve is energized for less time (60-62 seconds versus the current 70-75 seconds). Savings per wash cycle is approximately 1.4 gallons on a 7 fill cycle. Improved Drying – The electronic control increases heater on-time during the final rinse on all models. PDW8600 and below models add 8 minutes to the heated dry cycle for a total of 38 minutes dry time. Energy Savings – Internal testing shows an energy savings, although the energy labels will not be changed at this time.
