2 The Arctic Ocean is the smallest and shallowest of the world's five oceans. It is located in the Northern Polar region of the earth.

3 The Arctic Ocean is largely covered with a sheet of ice for most of the year due to very low temperatures. Seals, polar bears, and arctic fox make their homes on this ice.

5 Fun Facts The ice sheet on the Arctic Ocean is four times the size of Texas! The average winter temperature is -30 degrees. The Arctic Ocean is the only place in the world where polar bears live.
