Social Studies n Social Studies Alive! Curriculum n Very hands-on and fun n Communities n Map skills n Alternate between science and social studies units

Science n Foss Science Curriculum n Very hands on n Three units – Earth Materials (new this year!) – Balance and Motion – Plants

Computer Lab and LRC n Computer lab every other week – Work in Microsoft Word, practice typing, possibly complete a PowerPoint n May check out two books per week at LRC

MAP Testing n Measure of Academic Progress n Taken in the Computer Lab n One Math test and one Reading test n I will let you know, in our newsletter, the exact dates that our class will be taking the tests.

Snack n We have snack every morning…we eat lunch at 12:10. n Healthy snacks-no cookies or chips n May bring a water bottle to keep at table, but it must have a sports top

Birthdays n Easy treats (please don’t forget the napkins) n Your child can bring them in the morning or you can drop them in the office n Weekend birthdays n Birthday Book

Parent Volunteers n Sign up sheets under your packet n I will send home a volunteer calendar toward the end of September.
