8 8 Benefits Value Proposition (2/2) Maintain  24x7 Problem Resolution Support provides customers with peace of mind that their IT staff can access phone support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on any product — for servers, operating system, or Office applications. The number of phone incidents is based on SA spend. Includes unlimited web support on servers with SA coverage. SA customers with Premier Support can transfer their SA phone incidents to their Premier agreements. This will lower the cost of their Premier support and provide them with faster and more comprehensive support. Value: The value of support varies by usage. Contributes to Increased productivity, less downtime, lower support costs.  TechNet gives access to TechNet Managed Newsgroups and subscription media, featuring Microsoft Knowledge Base, software updates, utilities, drivers, and how-to articles. Value: Save $1000 per year for media kit and $350 per year for each TechNet Plus ID. This benefit can result in decreased support costs and downtime  Corporate Error Reporting reports system crashes and gives IT staff the ability to monitor and review error information to control deployment of fixes. Value: Increased IT staff productivity and reduced downtime.  Cold Back Up for Disaster Recovery provides complimentary "cold” backup server licenses in the event of a disaster for every production license with SA coverage. Value: Save the full cost of a license+SA for each server. Transition  Extended Hotfix Support is for older software versions that have transitioned from Mainstream to Extended Support. Annual fees are now included in the SA benefit, and SA customers do not need to sign-up within a 90-day period of a product’s transition to Extended Support. Note: customers are still responsible for the fees for individual hotfixes. Value: EHFS provides “piece of mind” and critical fixes. Save the annual fees  Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs is a smaller footprint Windows-based OS solution designed for customers with legacy PCs that provides the same security and manageability as Windows XP SP2 while providing a smooth migration path to the latest hardware and operating system. Value: Delay hardware upgrades (cash flow impact), save on support costs, and increase productivity and security.

Interactive training tools focus e-learning on agreement technology (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Servers) – HOSTED PLATFORM (June 2006 – Servers, Jan/Feb 2007 – Office/Windows) Training vouchers can be redeemed at a CPLS for in- depth, hands on training for agreement technology (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Servers) – MORE!!! 21 Customer Scenario Older computers are expensive to maintain and represent an inherent security risk. Can have problems that lead to lost productivity and a drain on the IT resources. While it is more cost effective in the long-run to replace legacy PCs, buying new hardware for a department or the entire business is not always an option due to budget limitations and large cash outlays. Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs: Improves the total cost of ownership (TCO) of older hardware and improves security to extend the life of the hardware, reduce the strain on IT, improve end user productivity and close security gaps. Based on Windows XP Embedded SP2, users are upgraded to the security and stability of the Windows XP platform and will experience a smoother transition to Windows Vista Enterprise when their PCs are eventually refreshed. IT departments can increase desktop manageability with Managed Desktop capabilities, such as Automated Login, Desk Protection, Desktop Customization, Group Policy Objects and automated deployment methods. Users are able to run web browsers, terminal emulation software, security software and other light workloads locally (see “Supported Workloads” below) and will run applications through terminal emulation.

22 EHFS: Available as of July 2005 Business Rules You Should Know 90 days The 90-day sign-up requirement is now waived for ALL SA customers. Program fee Annual fee for the Extended Hotfix program is included in SA purchase. Fee for first hotfix is not included. Enterprise Support contract Customer must have ES contract in place (Premier, Foundation, Essential). Only Enterprise Support offerings provide support on products in the Extended phase of the Product Lifecycle. Customer must sign EHSA Terms and Conditions prior to requesting the hotfix; this can be signed at any time. Products covered EHSA applies to current service pack levels only (e.g., Windows 2000 at the SP 4 level only). Customer must have SA coverage on product hotfix requested.
