2. AGENDA  Project Purpose  Project Goals and Expectation  Project Timeline  Work Time  End Goal: Expose yourself to different perspectives and practice thinking outside your comfort zone.

3. ARE DIFFERENT VIEWS OF KNOWLEDGE POSSIBLE? International Perspective

4. PROJECT PURPOSE  IB = INTERNATIONAL emphasis  TOK = PERSPECTIVE emphasis  Combining the two into a happy marriage.  You will be doing the same exact project next year, but different and more difficult countries!

5. PROJECT OVERVIEW  Are different views of knowledge possible?  You will be examining this questions through the perspective of a different culture and country.  You will be given prompting questions to help you.  You will be submitting a paper AND giving a brief presentation with visual.

6. PROJECT GOALS  Have meaningful discussions about outside perspectives.  Understand a new perspective.  Be able to share out important aspects of a new perspectives.

7. PROJECT EXPECTATIONS  Address the main question through the eyes of your country.  Turn in 500 word (min) essay that acknowledges your findings  5 min (max) presentation that highlights the main ideas from your findings  Bibliography, MLA style of sources used.  Visual to be used during presentations

8. ARE DIFFERENT VIEWS OF KNOWLEDGE POSSIBLE?  In what ways can the knowledge in one country be different than the knowledge in another country?  Holidays  Historical Events  Stereotypes  Conflicts  Traditions  Celebrations  Government  Beliefs  Ethics/Principles  Healthcare  Education

9. ARE DIFFERENT VIEWS OF KNOWLEDGE POSSIBLE?  What significant historical events has your country been a part of? Does their perspective of what went down vary from ours or another country’s?  What are some of their traditions/beliefs that are different from ours?  How would they view our 4 th of July? Thanksgiving? Christmas? Memorial Day? Labor Day? What holidays do they celebrate?

10. PAPER  Double Spaced  Typed  Size 12  Times New Roman  Are different views of knowledge possible?

11. VISUAL  Designed however you want, but MUST have the flag and name of country.  Use provided paper.  Creative Power but supplement the presentation and paper.

12. PRESENTATION  5 minutes  Present main findings that are evident in paper  Explain visual

13. REFLECTION  At the end of the presentations, there will be a reflective piece that allows you time to think about all presentations.
