6 NHS Careers: Informatics section Clinical professional This type of role would be filled by a qualified healthcare professional, such as a doctor or nurse, with an interest in audit or research. They would lead and develop IT facilities that assist clinical and professional staff. They would also liaise directly with the health informatics service. The post would usually require:doctornurse a graduate with evidence of postgraduate development in either biomedical sciences or computing systems experience in a clinical laboratory environment and in computing.
