2.  Flight 8501 was flying from Surabaya, Indonesia's second-largest city, and was about halfway to its destination, over Indonesian waters to Singapore, when it vanished from the radar. The plane had 162 passengers and no survivors. No one knows how or why the plane crashed yet but they found the second black box… on Tuesday.

3.  Any commercial air plane or corporate jet is required to be equipped with a cockpit voice recorder and a flight data recorder. It is these two items of equipment which are referred to as the Black Box.

4.  A day after recovering the data recorder, divers Tuesday retrieved the cockpit voice black box from the Air Asia flight. "Thank God," Budiono said. "This is good news for investigators to reveal the cause of the plane crash. The voice recorder was wedged under heavy pieces of wreckage nearby.”

5.  “Divers found the cockpit voice recorder, which holds two hours of conversations between the pilot, co-pilot, crew and air traffic control, just hours after the retrieval of the flight data recorder from under a wing Monday,” said Suryadi Supriyadi, operation coordinator at the national search and rescue agency.

7.  I think it is great that they found the second black box because they should now be able to find out what happened to the plane and why it crashed and they will be able to fix the problem on their other airplanes.  We need to use history to learn a lesson and prevent mistakes from happening in the future.

8. Some people might think the government should stop wasting their time trying to find out what happened because its not like you can stop flight 8501 from crashing because it already crashed. It’s unlikely the same exact situation would happen again and some people might think we should not waste our time and money searching for the black box.
