5 All about me! This is my 21 st year teaching — 15 at Bedford Elementary and 6 at M.E.S I live in Milton, KY. My husband’s name is Joey and my fur baby is Ellie. I LOVE the third grade.

Take an AR TEST weekly — unless you are reading an approved chapter book. Bathroom Go by “days of the week” Do what you need to do without leaving a mess. WASH YOUR HANDS WELL! Get a drink. Be responsible in the hallway. Show that you do not need a supervisor! Don’t lose the gift of trust. It is really hard to earn it back.

Take an AR TEST weekly — unless you are reading an approved chapter book. Spelling – Different each night. Must use your agenda page. Math – Study Multiplication Facts Study for any test Turn in papers in to assigned trays in the morning before you do anything else.

22 Homework Check It is your job as a M.E.S student to complete your homework each night. If you complete your homework every night for whole week, you will have a chance to become the Student of the Week. When you are the Student of the Week: – Get to sit in the Red Rolling Chair for the week!

37 AR Reading 3 rd Grade Levels = Super and Advanced To be a Super Reader – Must read chapter books worth 1.0 points and have a book level (BL) of 2.0 To be a Advanced Reader – Must read chapter books worth 2.0 point and have a book level (BL) of 3.0

38 AR Logs You MUST log in all AR books with me. After you have completed the book, taken the AR quiz, it will be your responsibility to report the quiz score. We will monitor your progress toward your goal. Honesty is required. I will be checking if your actual score is the same as what you reported!! Time to pick a Book? In the morning … While waiting for buses …

39 Drills & Emergency Procedures

40 Fire Drills Line up by number—quickly and quietly. The last person in line should turn off the lights and close the door. Exit the building through the front doors. Walk in a straight line to the edge of the concrete. Turn to face the building. Stand SILENTLY. Answer “here” when your name is called. Listen for further instructions.

41 Tornado Drills Grab a hard-backed book. Line up by number—quickly and quietly. The last person in line should turn off the lights and close the door. Enter the nurse’s office. Sit SILENTLY in the safety position. Answer “here” when your name is called. Listen for further instructions.

42 Earthquake Drills Crouch down under your desk. Hold on to the desk legs. When the quake ends, DO NOT move out from under your desk. Wait SILENTLY for further instructions.

43 Lock-Down Drills Move quickly and quietly into the “safety zone” while the teacher closes and blinds and locks the doors. Remain SILENT and STILL until the “all clear” is given. If you are out of the room when a “lock down” is called, enter the nearest classroom as quickly as possible. Have that teacher call Mrs. Ginn to provide your safe location.
